Welcome to Woking Massage Therapy

I am a fully qualified and insured Sports Massage Therapist based in Brookwood, Woking. I specialize in the treatment of chronic pain and sports injury. I offer the following treatments:

Sports Massage

The treatment to choose if you are looking to speed recovery from training/ competition, as well as reduce the risk of sports related injury. This treatment focuses on soft tissue, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Deep tissue techniques as well as sports stretching such as Soft Tissue Release (STR) and Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) to loosen stubborn restrictions and lengthen muscles are usually incorporated into this massage session.

The benefits of sports massage:

  • Help speed recovery from training
  • Reduce the risk of injury
  • Reduce muscle fatigue
  • Increase flexibility and range of movement
Deep Tissue Massage

A stronger treatment often using the forearms and elbows to enable a more intense massage which helps to relax and lengthen tight and shortened muscles. Trigger Point Therapy is often incorporated in the sessions to locate and neutralize ‘knots’ which can hinder training and lead to injury.

Deep tissue massage is particularly beneficial for:

  • Muscle fatigue post training/event
  • Shin splints
  • Golfers elbow
  • Tennis elbow
  • ITBand Syndrome
  • Patellar Tendonitis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Overuse Injuries
Postural and Movement Correction

If you suffer with issues that seem to keep coming back regardless of what you do, perhaps you may have some form of movement dysfunction. In this treatment I use techniques such as NKT™ (NeuroKinetic Therapy)  which aims to locate the original source of your pain. By testing certain movements and muscles in sequence this will help identify possible dysfunctional areas. Once these have been identified, corrective exercises are provided to help ‘reset’ the system.

Your First Appointment:

At your initial treatment you can expect a postural assessment and/or range of motion testing to determine areas of concern or restriction that could be affecting training or performance. Please ensure you allow an extra 15 minutes for your first visit.

Follow up treatments will involve a mini consultation and re-assessment (if necessary) to determine if any changes in my treatment plan for you are required, so I can adapt the techniques and areas worked to ensure the most effective treatment.
