Massage Aftercare

The care for your wellbeing does not end as soon as you leave my treatment room. The reason for your consultation in part is to offer advice to help you. This may be as simple as suggesting ways for you to feel more energised, or I may suggest some stretches for you to do at home to try and help you to help yourself.
There are some general considerations for everyone which I would recommend you do after each massage to gain the maximum benefit from each treatment. They are as follows:
- Drink plenty of water
(Massage therapy helps rid the body of any build up of toxins. Water will help keep the body hydrated and cleansed, and help avoid you getting a headache. (this can be a side effect of the toxin release) - Avoid alcohol for the next 12 hours
- Avoid caffeinated drinks (tea & coffee) for the next 12 hours
- Try not to eat a heavy meal too soon after the treatment
- You are likely to feel very relaxed and possibly sleepy after your treatment, so take care if you are driving.
- Above all, avoid strenuous exercise, and try and relax as much as much as possible for the day!
